Performance Enhancement

What percentage of your sport or activity is mental? Now ask yourself, what percentage of your training is spent on the mental aspects?

Many elite, professional, collegiate, and amateur athletes and performers recognize the importance of the mental side of performance. Working with a sport psychologist is a great way to identify, strengthen, and build on the mental techniques that help you perform your best.

Strategies that are commonly addressed in performance enhancement training include relaxation training, mental imagery, self-talk, goal setting, confidence building, and motivational techniques. Each individual is unique - what works for one person might not work for the next.

I will work with you to help you determine what particular performance enhancement strategies help you maximize your potential.

Other common issues that affect performance include injury, burnout, depression, anxiety, body image concerns, disordered eating, substance use, and relationship challenges. It is very important to address these types of concerns in counseling in order to benefit from performance enhancement training. As a licensed psychologist, I can work with you to address clinical issues that may interfere with your performance.
